Mar 13, 2006 - Fixed bug in Japanese module.
Some users in Japan complained that they'd get a blank screen upon logging in.
After some investigation and kind advice from a user, we realized that the problem was that Microsoft Internet Explorer wasn't picking up the specified character encoding properly.
One option to solve this would have been to make all users switch to Firefox. But since ALBIS is new and not
well known, and more than 80 percent of users are on IE, this would not have been wise.
We coud also have asked users to manually change the encoding. But that would be unfairly placing the burden on users even though Microsoft are to blame.
After intensive research, the team of astrophysicists at the secret ALBIS research facility finally figured out a way to override the Microsoft bug. The blank page syndrome for the
Japanese module should no longer be occurring.
